Bangalore, India

I am a little more than a month into my new role at Zoom, and I couldn’t be more proud to be here. We continue to invest significantly in supporting global audiences, and India will play a critical role in that growth and innovation. We are excited about the possibilities that India holds for the future of global video and unified communications, and wanted to share a few of the ways Zoom is investing in growth, innovation, and our customers in India.

Office opening, hiring in Bangalore

We already have an office in Mumbai and data centers in Mumbai and Hyderabad, and we recently announced the planned opening of a Zoom Technology Center in Bangalore. We are excited to hire key talent and are currently recruiting DevOps engineers, and IT, Security, and Business Operations personnel. Employees will work from home until it is safe to move into the new facility. To learn more about our available positions in India, please visit our sales and engineering career page

Supporting an expanded user base

From January to April 2020, we saw a 6,700% growth in free user signups in India. Our soaring usage in-country provides a valuable opportunity to reliably scale our service to as many of India’s 1.3 billion people as we can reach, improve our platform, and help create new business opportunities for India residents. And with such a rapid increase in new users in India and around the world, we’re hyper-focused on building and maintaining the most secure, frictionless video communications platform. You can learn about all we’re doing on the security front in our “Security and Privacy at Zoom” webinar and in CEO's 90-day report.

Commitment to customer excellence

We’re proud to support various organisations in India as they’ve navigated the global health pandemic. Here are what a few of our customers had to say about how instrumental Zoom has been during COVID-19.

  • Teach for India: “Zoom has enabled me to recreate school online for 54 underprivileged 12-to-13-year-old girls in New Delhi, India,” said Anissha Aggarwal, a Teach for India fellow. “As one of the first to recognize the need for virtual education access, they ensured that my children could continue their learning uninterrupted, in a safe and secure environment.”
  • IMS Learning Resources Private Limited: “Zoom comes with a lot of features to give a holistic experience to the students as well as to the mentors,” said project manager, Kushagra Sharan. “It enabled us to scale our classes across the nation with training more than a thousand students on a daily basis. Their support and responses have been prompt as well."
  • IFFCO: “Zoom proved to be one of the easiest, and secured collaboration solutions we have ever deployed and experienced,” said S.K. Singh, chief manager of IT Services. “The holistic approach of Zoom to handle all types of communication has really helped our people to use our new/existing VC [video conferencing] infrastructure more efficiently and easily. The learning time is almost zero. There is no need for any demo or training for any staff from top to bottom. It has helped us save our time and efforts to host and conduct any VC from any device without compromising on quality and security. We have extensively used Zoom during the recent lockdown period, which has resulted in increase in sales."
  • CyberPeace Foundation: “Our organisation has been using Zoom for over a year now, and our usage has only increased in the past few months since the lockdown has happened,” said foundation president Vineet Kumar. “I have used many platforms to figure out which suits our requirements as a trainer best, and Zoom has topped the list. From being able to control who can join to being able to accommodate thousands of participants at the same time, conducting awareness campaigns online has become very easy for our organisation.”

Additionally, Zoom earned the highest score on G2’s India Regional Satisfaction Index for Video Conferencing, was named a Leader in G2’s Asia Pacific Regional Grid® Report for Video Conferencing with the No. 1 overall score, and was named a Leader in the Southeast Asia Regional Grid® Report for Video Conferencing. These reports rank solutions by customer satisfaction based on regional G2 user reviews.
