Enterprise AI is no longer experimental. It's becoming the front door to how work gets done, and the analysts are paying attention.

We're pleased to share that Zoom has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise AI Assistants (EAIA) [Jason Wong, Max Goss, Olga Martí, Justin Tung, Cory Decker, September 2026, Research Note G00850326].

Why we believe this matters

The Enterprise AI Assistant market is one of the most consequential new software categories to emerge in years. Gartner defines an enterprise AI assistant (EAIA) as an AI-first application, powered by one or more GenAI models. EAIAs are designed to augment human capabilities and support human-led actions by offering agentic Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) search, agentic tools and enterprise-grade security. The EAIA is becoming an essential "front door" application for employees to routinely use GenAI to streamline content creation, research, analysis and collaboration, and to access AI agents.

Available as a premium add-on to Zoom Workplace, ZoomMate is designed to deliver advanced AI capabilities that go far beyond meeting summaries and conversational interfaces. ZoomMate is AI that helps you search, synthesize, and take action across many of your everyday work tools and conversations. And that's exactly what we built ZoomMate to do: conversation to completion.

What we built

ZoomMate brings together agentic search, task orchestration, and a full AI Productivity Suite (Zoom Canvas, Sheets, Slides, and Paper). It's built on what we believe is an important competitive advantage for Zoom: the ability to retrieve context and information from conversations like meetings, chat, phone, alongside documents and connected enterprise applications, and then take action on what it finds.

We've been building toward what we call conversation to completion: an AI experience that doesn't just summarize your meetings, but captures work, identifies next steps, orchestrates actions, and creates deliverables. ZoomMate is the product realization of that vision.

Two areas we're particularly proud of:

  • A distinctive product vision: ZoomMate extends well beyond meeting summarization and productivity assistance. It draws on context from meetings, chat, phone, and conversations, in addition to documents and files, to capture work, identify next steps, and orchestrate actions and workflows. It draws context directly from Zoom meetings, chat, and calls, while also connecting to other productivity tools.
  • Immediate value for Zoom customers: Organizations already using Zoom can add ZoomMate and begin leveraging their existing meeting, chat, and call context as a foundation for AI-assisted work. Insights and decisions captured from Zoom meetings, chat, and phone calls, along with connected data sources and notes brought in through My Notes, provide a strong foundation of enterprise work context.

The conversation advantage

Here's the thing most people miss about enterprise AI: much of the most valuable context in any organization doesn't live only in documents or databases. It lives in conversations that we have every day, like the meetings where decisions get made, the calls where priorities shift, and the chats where context gets shared in real time.

ZoomMate is built on the platform where many of these conversations already happen, which we believe provides a meaningful foundation for contextual AI assistance.

Using agentic search, ZoomMate can plan, execute, and synthesize multi-step searches across many connected third-party data sources. And it does that surfacing results for human review, grounded in the conversational context that Zoom's platform provides.

And with agentic orchestration, ZoomMate goes beyond surfacing insights. It takes action creating deliverables, updating systems, executing workflows, and following through on the commitments made in your conversations. We call this conversation to completion, and it's the strategic framework behind everything we're building.

The bigger picture

This recognition joins a growing body of analyst coverage for Zoom's AI-first strategy. Zoom was also named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Unified Communications as a Service for the seventh time. In our opinion, these recognitions together reflect a platform that is delivering AI-powered value across a broad range of work activities, from communication to customer service to productivity.

We believe this report is the newest chapter in that story and the work ahead is what we're most excited about. For ZoomMate customers and those evaluating AI services for the enterprise, what's coming next is designed to go further in connecting conversation to completion across more layers of how work gets done.
