Behind every successful organization are the people who power it. Yet hiring remains one of the most challenging and subjective parts of business, riddled with manual steps, scattered notes, and gut decisions that can miss great talent. At Zoom, we’re committed to changing that.

As we continue to expand our AI-first open work platform, we’re reimagining not just how teams collaborate, sell, and service their customers, but also how they find and hire great people. That’s why we’re excited to announce the acquisition of BrightHire, a leading AI-powered hiring intelligence platform that elevates every stage of the hiring process, enhancing one of the most critical business workflows.

Why BrightHire

Every great hire begins with a conversation. Each year, millions of these moments that shape and define teams take place on the Zoom platform. Customers trust us for their most important, high-stakes conversations—and they also trust BrightHire to capture and enrich these interactions, driving better decisions, stronger teams, and measurable hiring outcomes.

Adding BrightHire to the Zoom platform builds on the AI tools we’ve designed for better conversations and faster, more informed decisions, with a suite of features specifically designed for interviews. BrightHire empowers leading talent teams to leverage the intelligence embedded in every interview, driving measurable improvements in both quality of hire and process efficiency.

Founded in 2019, BrightHire created the interview intelligence category and is trusted by hundreds of enterprises, including Canva, Duolingo, HCA Healthcare, Instacart, Lucid Group, Ramp, and SoFi, to elevate hiring outcomes. Importantly, like Zoom, BrightHire is grounded in a responsible approach to AI. One of BrightHire’s core values is to put candidates first — with AI designed to augment hiring, not replace human decision-making.

While many recruiting solutions focus on candidate sourcing or post-hire processes, BrightHire delivers insight and efficiency across the entire hiring process by helping teams plan, conduct, and analyze interviews more effectively. It also provides interviewers and recruiters with the ability to create AI-powered job descriptions, hiring plans, screening interviews, recording and transcripts, automated interview notes and summaries, feedback workflows, coaching insights, and seamless integrations with applicant tracking systems — all while keeping humans at the center.

Zoom invested in BrightHire in 2021, and since then, we have worked closely together to deliver top-tier integrations for our customers. We are excited to help accelerate BrightHire’s growth by bringing their platform to more Zoom customers and providing resources and AI capabilities to strengthen their platform — all while maintaining their cross-platform ethos.

From first hire to inspire - BrightHire, Workvivo, and Zoom

BrightHire is a natural extension of Zoom’s AI-first Workplace platform, expanding our offerings across mission-critical hiring and recruiting workflows.

With BrightHire joining Zoom and Workvivo, we’re creating a seamless talent journey from discovering and hiring the right people to inspiring and engaging them once they join. It’s all part of our vision for a more connected, intelligent workplace.

What this means for our customers

With this acquisition, the Zoom platform will gain a comprehensive talent lifecycle suite with AI-powered interview tools. This includes interview planning, automated insights, real-time coaching, and data-driven hiring decisions that enhance quality and improve candidate experience.

BrightHire customers will continue to have access to the AI platform they know and trust, across any platform where they work, while gaining the benefits of Zoom's scale, resources, and expanded AI capabilities, fueling faster innovation, unlocking product synergies, and accelerating their roadmap.

The transaction closed in December 2025, and we welcomed BrightHire CEO Ben Sesser and the BrightHire team to Zoom. Together with BrightHire, we’re helping every organization make smarter and faster hiring decisions right where work happens: on Zoom.

Questions about Zoom and Brighthire

Why did Zoom acquire BrightHire?

Millions of job interviews take place on Zoom each year, and the hiring decision usually comes down to what interviewers remember afterward. BrightHire changes what those interviews leave behind: it records and transcribes them, generates notes and candidate summaries, and structures the evidence against the criteria the hiring team set for the role. Recruiters and hiring managers decide based on what candidates actually said. Building that into Zoom's AI-first work platform brings it to the interviews already happening there.

What does BrightHire do?

BrightHire is an interview intelligence platform that delivers insight and efficiency across the hiring process, helping teams plan and execute better interviews and make higher-quality hiring decisions. It builds structured hiring plans in minutes, automates first-round screening interviews with an AI interviewer, generates interview notes and highlights so interviewers can focus on the candidate, and gives every stakeholder the evidence to hire with confidence. Interview insights and an AI coaching agent then help teams improve interview quality over time. In a study across 25,000+ candidates, BrightHire customers ran 27% fewer interviews per hire and saw a 19% reduction in candidate drop-offs.

How does BrightHire work with Zoom meetings?

When a hiring team runs an interview on Zoom, the interviewer's structured guide is available alongside the conversation — questions and evaluation criteria in view while they talk to the candidate. BrightHire records and transcribes the interview, then generates notes and candidate summaries tied to the moments they came from. Interviewers submit feedback while details are fresh, and it syncs to the applicant tracking system the team already runs. Zoom's proprietary models powers the first fraud detection built natively into the live interview on Zoom, including deepfake signals, each one backed by reviewable evidence.

How is BrightHire different from Zoom's AI meeting notes?

Zoom’s AI notetaking capabilities can capture and summarize any meeting, across every kind of work conversation. BrightHire is purpose built for hiring. It writes the interview guide before the interview, maps candidate responses against the rubric the hiring team agreed on for that role, and pulls what every interviewer heard into one candidate summary the debrief can actually run on. It coaches interviewers on the questions they asked and missed, and keeps a compliant record of each interview. A meeting summary tells you what was said. BrightHire helps a hiring team understand the evidence to support the hire.
