The Cloud Computing Compliance Criteria Catalogue (C5), also referred to as C5:2020, was developed by the German Federal Office for Information Security (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik or “BSI”) as a way to assess the information security of cloud services that leverages internationally recognized security standards such as ISO/IEC 27001. The C5 standard establishes a consistent audit baseline and, thereby, creates a meaningful basis for trust between cloud providers and their customers.
