Secure, flexible, and dynamic voice communication is a critical resource for many organizations around the world, and we’re releasing two features to increase the availability of Zoom Phone for our customers and protect our customers with stricter caller ID verification compliance:
Zoom Phone continues its country expansion with the latest addition in Japan! Multinational companies and local businesses with a presence in Japan can now buy Zoom Phone directly with the VoIP (050) phone numbers, bringing the total number of countries where Zoom Phone is available natively to 47 countries.
To combat the growing problem of fraudulent robocalls and illegal phone number spoofing, we’re adding Caller ID attestation using the STIR (Secure Telephony Identity Revisited)/SHAKEN (Secure Handling of Asserted information using toKENs) framework, an industry-standard that helps prevent scammers and robocallers from misusing someone’s phone number as their own caller ID. Outbound calls from Zoom Phone users using Zoom-provided US numbers will have the calls attested as mandated by the FCC. Such calls can be answered by the receiving party with a higher level of confidence about the caller's authenticity.
With many organizations moving to a hybrid work model, we’re releasing two new Zoom Team Chat features to help you simplify and organize your communications, no matter where your employees choose to work:
To make it easier to stay on top of your various chat conversations and prioritize the important ones, we’ve improved the user experience within Zoom Team Chat so it’s more organized. With these improvements, users can instantly jump to any messages that mention them directly, as well as bookmarked messages, shared files, and contact requests. We’ve also added icons to help users easily identify one-to-one conversations, group chats, and channels.
We’ve enabled Admin Channel Management for customers with advanced chat encryption enabled so users can see who has access to their information.
