Building an AI-Ready Future with Human Connection: Zoom’s $10M Commitment to AI For Good
At Zoom, we see AI as a powerful accelerator for human potential. By taking on the work that machines do best - like sorting and analyzing data, generating content, or automating workflows - AI frees people to do what only humans can: connect, collaborate, teach, and solve problems together.
In this exciting moment of transformation when the way we learn and work is rapidly evolving, it's essential to equip students, educators, and communities to use AI with confidence and ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed in an AI-driven economy.
That’s why, at Zoomtopia 2025, we announced a $10 million, 3-year commitment to AI For Good to help build global AI readiness and positive societal impact. We're bringing the power of our products, people, and philanthropy to three areas where we can make the biggest difference:
-
Education – Helping students develop digital fluency and critical thinking skills and equipping educators with tools to teach, guide, and connect with their classrooms in new ways.
-
Workforce Development – Investing in research on the future of work and expanding access to upskilling and retraining programs and employment pathways for workers and job-seekers.
- Nonprofit AI Readiness and Innovation – Partnering with mission-driven organizations to harness AI to amplify impact, streamline operations, and better serve their communities.
Announcing Our First Grant Recipients
We are proud to announce our first two grant recipients:
Code.org
Code.org was founded in 2013, with the mission to make CS and AI education accessible to every student. Since their launch, they have scaled their work around the world with over 100 million students learning about CS and AI concepts, foundational to future workforce prospects.
Code.org is receiving a $1 million grant and Zoom product support to launch and scale a new AI Foundations course in high schools, aiming to reach 500,000 U.S. students annually by 2030. The grant will also be used to scale AI units in middle schools and revitalize block-based CS and AI content for elementary learners globally.
Zoom's support is a powerful investment in our mission. This funding will help us expand access to our free AI curriculum, empower more educators through professional learning, and ensure more students from underserved and underrepresented groups have the opportunity to thrive in the digital age.

data.org
data.org is accelerating the power of data and AI to solve some of the world’s biggest problems.
Zoom is teaming up with data.org to launch the Activate AI Economic Opportunity Challenge. Backed by a $1 million grant, in-kind product support and technical assistance, this global initiative will identify and scale AI solutions that expand access to skills, jobs, and economic mobility in underserved communities around the world.
With the support from Zoom, data.org will host its fifth global challenge, which allows us to identify and invest in innovative approaches that leverage data and AI to build economic opportunity in communities around the world. Challenge awardees are exemplary organizations advancing social impact. They benefit from access to capital, technical assistance, and a collaborative network of peers, while we learn more about what works and how, together, we can tackle the world’s most pressing issues with the help of AI.
