About Arctic Eider Society

Arctic Eider Society works with Inuit and Cree communities around Hudson Bay and James Bay to address environmental change that affects sea-ice ecosystems through research, education and outreach.

Our partnership and impact

Zoom’s support helped Arctic Eider Society build and manage SIKU: The Indigenous Knowledge App, created by and for Indigenous communities providing tools and services to support Indigenous-led research and environmental monitoring. It has now over 29,000 users across Canada, Alaska, and Greenland.

"Zoom Cares funding has been instrumental in helping us scale up our impact and to support request from new Indigenous communities and regions to use SIKU to lead and manage their conservation projects using their own language and knowledge systems."
