Making Every Minute Count: New Humanitarian Grant to Care

Making Every Minute Count: New Humanitarian Grant to Care

As part of our ongoing efforts to support those in need, Zoom Cares is proud to announce $225,000 in grant funding to CARE, one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations.

The need for humanitarian assistance has never been greater. The United Nations predicts that in 2025, 305 million people will need aid - the highest number in more than 50 years.

CARE works in over 100 countries to support communities facing extreme poverty, natural disasters, conflicts, and humanitarian crises. In 2024, they reached over 50 million people with critical aid, including food, shelter, clean water, and medical supplies. They are often among the first to respond to disasters, helping people rebuild their lives when they need it most.

This is one of the most challenging times in recent history for humanitarian organizations, with many facing critical funding shortfalls. As the need for help grows, corporate support is more important than ever. Support from partners like Zoom Cares is crucial – it means more people in crisis can receive the life-saving assistance they urgently need. We’re deeply grateful for their commitment.

How Zoom Helps CARE Do Its Vital Work

Zoom’s video, webinar, and collaboration tools help CARE’s staff stay connected and move rapidly in even the most remote and challenging environments. Whether it’s conducting remote training, coordinating with local officials, or communicating with field teams, Zoom helps ensure that vital information flows seamlessly and in real time. Additionally, CARE uses Zoom’s AI Companion to transcribe meetings and summarize key information, enabling faster, more informed decisions. To bridge language barriers, CARE also leverages Zoom’s translated caption feature, which allows participants to understand each other in 13 languages without the need for human translators.

The Importance of Proactive Humanitarian Support

In times of crisis, many well-meaning organizations and individuals donate after the emergency is already underway. While these contributions are invaluable, they can lead to challenges—like delays in response or logistical hurdles when resources are stretched. Proactive donations, like this grant from Zoom Cares, help organizations plan and mobilize more effectively, ensuring aid reaches those in need before a crisis peaks.

We’re proud to see our technology and resources making an impact on the front lines of global humanitarian efforts—fostering connection, collaboration, and life-saving action when it’s needed most.
