Although the recent outbreak of COVID-19 has fundamentally changed life for students, PBS and Zoom are teaming up to help thousands of high school seniors celebrate one of the most treasured experiences of their high school career: Prom! On Friday, June 19th, PBS is hosting the “Better Late Than Never Prom” over Zoom, a jaw-dropping virtual prom event that high school students from across the country can enjoy from the safety of their own homes.  This 90-minute event will kick-off at 8 p.m. ET with a virtual limo ride and a Hollywood-esque red carpet arrival where students can show off their formal attire before moving into a dazzling ballroom. In the ballroom, attendees can enjoy musical acts from artists such as Duckwrth, QuestLove, and Chloe X Halle, as well as cameos from national celebrities.  Students will also have the chance to take part in some classic prom rites of passage, such as sharing photos, sending corsages, and crowning their very own prom king and queen. Under the supervision of teacher chaperones, student attendees will have the chance to interact with their friends and other students in an engaging, virtual meeting place.  Here is some important information about the event:  Date: June 26, 2020 Time: 8 - 9:30 p.m. ET Attire: Formal dress Who: US-based high school seniors Where: Any mobile phone, tablet, or internet-enabled device  To sign up for this event, teacher chaperones should take the following steps:
