Now, as we enter a new era with agentic AI, our newly announced Zoom AI Companion 3.0 will help turn conversation into action, personalized to how you work, wherever you work. It uncovers the most important insights from your interactions, helps you use your time more effectively with agentic skills that act when and where you need them, and enables you to deliver high-quality work faster with AI that gets it right with minimal guidance. Zoom AI Companion 3.0 features are expected in November 2025.

We focused on investing in AI technology long before large language models became mainstream. We knew our customers could experience unparalleled productivity from an AI solution built directly into the Zoom platform.

In its earliest iterations, AI Companion helped us automate meeting summaries and removed the need to take notes. It later came to act as a personal assistant working across Zoom Workplace pulling data from emails, calendars, and documents across connected apps like Microsoft Outlook and Office 365, Gmail, and Google Drive.

Now, AI Companion continues to evolve as it becomes agentic across the entire Zoom platform. It can provide dynamic insights and assistance across your day so you can get to quality results faster.

Built with four core agentic skills — reasoning, memory, task action, and orchestration — AI Companion will use skills to complete tasks on your behalf and support you in your day-to-day work. On top of these core skills, AI Companion 3.0 will introduce a new layer of capabilities — including retrieval and generation — enabling it to gather information and create content across your workday with less direction. It will know which agents, skills, and models to tap into to deliver optimal results, acting as your AI collaborator.

Think of AI Companion as the second set of hands you’ve always wanted — an AI collaborator who knows you and operates with your guidance, using information across the Zoom platform, enabled third parties, and the web.

Imagine how nice it would be to have someone book your meetings or help you manage projects from start to finish, just from a chat thread or call. Today, AI Companion can prepare us for meetings, catch us up on what we’ve missed, and summarize key points from multiple conversations. It can pull project statuses, surface relevant feedback from customers and colleagues, info from the web, and chats for us. These agentic skills give AI Companion more ability to help us improve our own work each and every day.

With AI Companion 3.0, these capabilities will be enhanced through a new layer of agentic skills: retrieval, generation, and workflow automation. AI Companion can proactively gather context from Zoom, enabled third-party apps, and the web, create content such as meeting notes, proposals, or project plans, and execute tasks on your behalf. For example, it can analyze your calendar, identify optional or conflicting meetings, and automatically carve out focus time so you can concentrate on what matters most.

Instead of simply reacting to your requests, AI Companion’s new agentic skills can start taking initiative on your behalf. With the upcoming “free up my time” skill (expected October 2025), it can analyze your calendar to resolve conflicts and suggest which meetings you might skip while still keeping you updated with host-generated notes. The enhanced “prepare me for a meeting” skill (expected October 2025) will proactively surface agendas, past action items, and key insights so you’re ready to contribute. And with proactive meeting recommendations (expected November 2025), AI Companion will help track discussions, highlight decisions, and suggest next steps so momentum isn’t lost. By coordinating tasks and information across Zoom and third-party apps, AI Companion ensures you stay in control while it handles the heavy lifting in the background.

Even when you cannot attend meetings, AI Companion can join on your behalf, whether in Zoom or third-party platforms, and capture notes, action items, and follow-ups. By combining these advanced skills with its four core agentic abilities — reasoning, memory, task action, and orchestration — AI Companion transforms how you work, turning conversations and collaborations into actionable outcomes with speed, accuracy, and context.

With this information, AI Companion can step into action and schedule your next meeting, draft a chat message and email response, or generate a document for you, all based on your review and approval. With Zoom Tasks, you can track personal, team, and project tasks with the option of marking your tasks as public or private based on what you and your stakeholders want them to be.

Although Zoom Tasks is just one example, AI Companion’s agentic AI platform is designed to put every conversation into action, optimize workflows, and help you deliver high-quality work faster with less effort.

As we move more deeply into the next stage of our vision, we are strengthening our core agentic skills and adding new skills and agents to bring AI technology to the entire Zoom platform — including new innovations in our business services and industry vertical solutions.

You’ll soon be able to work directly in a web browser (expected November 2025) or in the Zoom Workplace home tab (expected March 2026), where the most relevant information and projects surface at the right time. From this space, you can interact with AI Companion as a collaboration partner, getting writing support, conducting deep research, and building smarter workflows with minimal effort. Writing assistance will help you draft, edit, and refine business documents in a style that matches your own, while a new deep research skill draws from conversations, integrated apps, company knowledge bases, and the web to generate comprehensive, high-quality outputs.

We’re still devoted to delivering high-quality AI solutions at no additional cost with eligible paid plans. While our AI technology has matured, our commitment to safe and responsible AI innovations remains unchanged.

Our federated approach to AI maximizes performance, quality, and affordability by combining Zoom-owned large-language models with leading third-party models, including OpenAI's GPT-5 andAnthropic’s Claude models.
