In the expansive realm of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure, Protelindo stands out as one of the country’s largest integrated digital infrastructure companies. Specialising in leasing telecommunication infrastructure to various operators and corporations, Protelindo boasts an impressive portfolio that includes more than 30,000 towers and an extensive fiber network spanning more than 190,000 km. This digital giant plays a crucial role in providing connectivity and internet services to a diverse clientele of 4,000+ businesses.
However, Protelindo faced significant challenges in navigating the dynamic landscape of its digital operations. The company grappled with enhancing communication across dispersed project sites and the surging demand for meeting spaces. These challenges were exacerbated by the limitations of the existing physical infrastructure, which quickly outgrew the company’s rapid growth.
Embracing transformation: the Zoom onset
Dating back to 2019, Protelindo began its partnership with Zoom when seeking a solution to enhance collaboration and discussions. Zoom proved instrumental in conducting hybrid meetings and office events and fostered a strong sense of employee association across diverse locations in Indonesia.
Revolutionizing meeting spaces: the Zoom Rooms revolution
To support the evolving needs of hybrid work, Protelindo equipped its meeting rooms with Zoom Rooms. The modern conference room solution enabled team members to experience seamless virtual and face-to-face interactions from the push of a button. To help with user adoption, the IT team proactively conducted roadshows, training users on the features of Zoom Rooms.
Flexible workspaces: navigating change with Zoom Workspace Reservation
As Protelindo’s headcount and the hybrid work model continued to grow, the implementation of Zoom’s Workspace Reservation system became imperative. This streamlined flexible workspace arrangements, enabling users to easily reserve a workstation on-site while through a familiar interface.
Unified telephony: Zoom Phone as the standard
The challenge of standardising telephony systems across several acquired companies was solved using Zoom Phone. It replaced disparate telephony systems, providing a unified telephony solution for the entire group. Additionally, Zoom Phone met the unique requirements of field support personnel, allowing Protilendo to resolve on-site issues via mobile phones without revealing personal numbers.
Today’s collaborative landscape
Today, Protelindo conducts 70%-80% of its meetings and collaborations through Zoom. Positive feedback highlights the platform’s reliability, voice and video quality, and the seamless user experience. The company plans to explore and leverage Zoom’s AI capabilities, integrating them into core systems for future innovations.
