So much of Zoom Cares is driven by our passionate employees, whose voices have shaped our giving strategy and helped us determine what causes to support. One of those causes is education.
We believe access to a high-quality education is a fundamental right, and the foundation to a bright and thriving future for all our children. But during the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of students from under-resourced communities may lose nearly a year of learning, which will further widen achievement gaps and affect their future prospects.
That’s why education has been a main focus for us this year. Zoom has provided its education service to over 125,000 schools in 25 countries for free during the pandemic. We also provided training and resources to help more than 35,000 educators teach remotely on Zoom this school year as part of our Zoom Summer Academy.
We invested over $1.5 million to ensure students are connected, safe, and learning during these times. Our back-to-school remote learning grants support organizations all over the world that are helping students disproportionately affected by school closures:
- Annenberg Institute for School Reform
- Education Leaders of Color
- Education Superhighway
- International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
- Profound Gentleman
- Teach For All
And, we’d love you to join us in giving to some amazing organizations that are working to improve equity in education and keep kids learning during the pandemic. Zoom Cares will match up to $250,000 in donations made by Zoomtopia attendees on Oct. 14 and 15 through Pledgeling — you can donate here.
