About ZoomAir
Wireless Networking
ZoomAir Wireless Networking products bring affordable, high
quality, upgradeable, industry standards-based wireless technology
to business and institutional users.
ZoomAir hardware and software facilitate the wireless
expansion of existing Ethernet LANs (Local Area Networks)
and even the construction of modestly sized all-wireless
networks.

Wireless Network technology is ideal for small to medium
sized offices where a wireless network may be economically
and logistically preferable to a wired LAN. Large offices
with a wired network already in place can also benefit from
the flexible network expansion opportunities offered by ZoomAir.
Installation possibilities include: schools, conference rooms,
hospitals, retail outlets, construction sites, production
lines, and warehouses. ZoomAir is serious business
ZoomAir Wireless Networking hardware products are fully compliant
with the adopted IEEE 802.11b (DSSS) worldwide standard. This
means ZoomAir wireless network cards are interoperable with
standards-compliant devices from other sources, integrate seamlessly
into existing wired networks, and are compatible with
other high-speed, IEEE 802.11b (DSSS) devices. ZoomAir
wireless network cards transmit and receive data at up to 11
Mbps on the 2.4 GigaHertz (GHz) frequency band using the latest
DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) technology. In
a typical business environment, ZoomAir Wireless Network cards
will transmit and receive data reliably up to 300 feet (90
meters). In an unobstructed outdoor setting the typical
range increases to approximately 1000 feet (300 meters).
The ZoomAir Wireless Networking provides dense, multi-layered
data security. The DSSS data signals are extremely resistant
to noise, interference, jamming and unauthorized monitoring. In
addition, all users must identify themselves with the same
system ID. Users with particularly sensitive data can
enable the built-in Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) feature,
which further encrypts the signal and requires an identical
security key at both ends of the transmission. In short,
as compared with an Ethernet LAN, ZoomAir Wireless Networking
data security is in no way compromised. |
