What is a Store and Forward dialer?

A Store and Forward dialer is an automatic telephone dialer, which is programmed to make dialing faster, easier and more reliable. The dialer is programmed to recognize the kinds of calls where the dialer will need to add extra digits to the dialing string. Once programmed, the dialer first records the digits that are dialed, and then dials (forwards) the stored number along with any extra numbers which need to be added to route the call. The entire sequence is done very quickly. By automatically dialing an access number, a Store and Forward dialer makes using money-saving long distance through alternate carriers as convenient as dialing a ten-digit long distance number.

What is a parallel dialer?

A parallel dialer is able to work for all the phones on the line, whereas a non-parallel dialer will only work for the one phone that it’s plugged into without a professional installation to make it work for all the phones. All Zoom dialers use our patented parallel technology.

Will a dialer help make phone cards easier to use?

Yes, dialers assist in making calls through a prepaid phone card. With the dialer installed, you will only need to dial the number you wish to reach, the dialer will dial the 800 number and PIN for you, followed by the number you dialed.

Can more than one phone be connected to the dialer?

Zoom dialers will automatically work from all extensions that share the same phone number with the dialer.

How is the dialer installed?

It is plugged into any normal RJ11 phone jack, just like an answering machine or other telephone accessory.

Will the Zoom Dialer work with a fax machine?

Yes, the Model 24 dialer has been designed to work with Fax machines.

The Model 24 is a remotely programmable dialer. It requires Zoom’s Dialer Management Software to remotely program dialers in the field.

How is the Model 24 programmed?

The Model 24 dialer is remotely programmable by using Zoom's Dialer Management Software and a Dialogic D/4 PCI board to act as a modem between the software and dialer. The software works with Windows 2000 and is very user friendly.

Does the Model 24 offer Least Cost Routing?

Yes, the Model 24 can route calls to up to 6 different networks based on the number dialed.

My application requires the dialer to remove digits and add a #, which dialer should I use?

The Model 24 is capable of inserting or removing digits from the dial string. It can also add a # wherever needed during the dialing sequence. These are advanced features that are only available in the Model 24.

Do I need to change my phone service when using a dialer?

No, there is no need to change your phone service in any way when using a dialer.

I live in Europe, what power supply options do you offer?

Zoom has three types of power cubes that are available with the dialers. A 110v standard US power cube. A 220v Euro power cube and a 220v non-Euro power cube. Please specify which power cube you need when ordering.

If I use a dialer with a prepaid phone service, can I drop my long distance carrier?

Yes you can. Since your calls will go over the prepaid phone service, a long distance carrier isn’t needed.

The Model 26 has no programming software. This dialer is designed to be programmed by end users. To program the dialer, the user puts the dialer into Learn Mode and then teaches the dialer how to place calls by making a call using the phone service of their choice.

Will the Zoom dialer work with AT&T Phone cards?

Yes, the Model 26 dialer will work with any phone card or prepaid phone service.

Can two people share a dialer?

Yes, the Model 26 dialer can support up to eight phone cards at the same time. This feature allows up to eight users to maintain their own phone card balance. Each user is assigned a two digit PIN that is pre dialed in order to access their particular account.

I buy a different phone card every week, which dialer should I use?

The Model 26 dialer will allow you to change cards whenever you choose. It only takes about one minute to set up the dialer with a new phone card.

What is a hotline dialer?

A hotline dialer dials a specific phone number whenever something triggers it.

What can trigger the dialer?

The dialer can be programmed to trigger in one of four ways.

1. Picking up the handset
2. Picking up the handset and holding down a digit for 2 seconds
3. Picking up the handset and not dialing anything for 3 seconds
4. Supplying power to the dialer

Can the Model 27 block calls from going out?

Yes, this mode is useful in rental property applications where local calls, 911 and toll free calls would be permitted while all toll, long distance and international calls should be blocked.
