Zoom/FaxModem 56Kx Named "Net Best" by Ziff-Davis
Zoom's Third Major 56K Industry
Award in 2 Months Boston,
MA, October 29, 1997 - The Zoom/FaxModem™ 56Kx was
the only product to be named a "Net Best" in ZD
Internet Magazine's test of 21 competing 56K faxmodems using
either K56flex™ or x2™ technology. Twelve of the
56K modems were based on K56flex and nine were based on x2
technology. "The 56K modems from Zoom Telephonics
performed solidly across the board. They were easy to set
up, and they include a seven-year warranty. The Zoom modems
are a great choice from any angle," according to the
November 1997 review in the Ziff-Davis publication.
"It is very satisfying to win this important award,"
said Frank Manning, Zoom's President and CEO. "ZD Internet
Magazine has established itself as an influential Internet
magazine with a very strong test lab, so their praise means
a lot to us." ZD Internet Magazine provides comparative
product reviews based on testing performed at ZD Lab's Internet
Lab - the largest independent Internet and intranet testing
facility in the world. The monthly publication has a circulation
of 300,000 paid subscribers. This is the second time
in just over a month that the Zoom 56Kx has outperformed all
56K competition. In BYTE Magazine's October 1997 review of
thirty-four 56K modems, the Zoom 56Kx received the "BYTE
Best" award and was named the "overall winner."
The Zoom/FaxModem 56Kx was also named a "Tester's
Choice" by Data Communications Magazine in August and
received a "Buy It" award from CNET in September.
Also in October, PC Online, a major computer and communications
publication in Germany, rated the Zoom 56Kx the best performer
and top value among nine 56K modems. For more information
