Zoom Faxmodems Receive Awards from Leading Publications
PC World and Windows Magazine
Note Speed, Compatibility, Affordable Pricing
Boston, MA, September 11, 1996 - Zoom faxmodems have
received key awards from PC World and Windows Magazine-two
leading trade publications. PC World has a circulation of
about one million readers and Windows Magazine has a circulation
of about one-half million. Windows Magazine named
the Zoom V.34X FaxModem one of the top 100 hardware products
of the year in the annual "Win 100 Hardware Awards"
summer issue. The award was made on the basis of "speed,
compatibility, throughput, and added value"-such as the
bundled software-of the Zoom V.34X. According to the publication,
"The V.34X's throughput with other manufacturers' products
rivals the speeds other modems achieve only with their own
kind." PC World named the Zoom V.34X one of the
top five external modems in September, and for the seventh
straight month named the Zoom V.34C PCMCIA FaxModem the "Best
Buy" of 12 competitive products. Competing products from
Hayes, Megahertz, TDK Systems, and MultiTech Systems all finished
behind Zoom. According to PC World, "speed and affordability"
and "very good support policies" were factors which
contributed to the high ratings for Zoom products.
"These awards demonstrate Zoom's commitment to develop
and support high-performance products at affordable prices,"
said Frank Manning, Zoom's President and CEO. Zoom
