ZOOM WINS "BEST OF SHOW" IN INTERNET TELEPHONY
AWARD GOES TO REVOLUTIONARY NEW ZOOM/DIALER EZ

Boston, MA, March 8, 2002 — Zoom Telephonics, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOM) announced today that its Zoom/Dialer EZ has been named a "Best of Show" winner at Technology Marketing Corporation (TCMTM)'s INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference and Expo, Miami 2002. The show, held last month at Miami's Hotel Inter-Continental, is a widely respected global event focused on voice, video, fax, and data convergence.

The Best of Show awards emphasize technologic innovation and product feature sets. Forward-looking products that will aid in the development of the next generation of VoIP solutions were also awarded. Each winner submitted a thorough application and displayed and demonstrated their product on the INTERNET TELEPHONY® Expo show floor.

The Zoom/Dialer EZ is a new product from Zoom Telephonics designed to increase traffic for Voice Over IP Carriers, prepaid calling services and other alternate long distance carriers. The inexpensive dialer is installed in seconds and routes calls based upon large, flexible least-cost routing tables. The dialer can be remotely re-programmed using a PC and easy-to-use management software provided by Zoom Telephonics.

Patented technology in the Zoom/Dialer EZ allows it to control all of the phone traffic on a customer's phone line with a simple plug-in connection at any phone jack. Users dial normally and the dialer automatically adds the lengthier access code and account numbers when appropriate.

When the dialer is installed on a customer's phone line, service providers can capture all of the revenue-generating calls from the customer premise without accepting other types of traffic like 800 or 911 calls.

The new dialer will begin volume shipments in the second quarter of 2002.
